According to what August has said, the main factor in battery life is the quality of the Wi-Fi connection. If you are lock will need to constantly reconnect to an access point or wake up due to polling from the access point, the battery will quickly drain. If you don’t like the idea of Keeping Up with batteries on your Smart Lock then obviously this is not the product category for you. A two pack of the CR123s batteries should cost around 8 to $10.
