How To View Arlo Camera on PC

[wpseo_breadcrumb]

I recently installed a few Arlo cameras in my home and realised they do not have a way that I can view their cameras on my computer. However, many different types of android emulators have been of great help to allow me to do this.

Computers use a web browser, Chrome would do better. Use https://arlo.netgear.com as the URL and then use your credentials to log in. You will be able to view your cameras now.

With that in mind, I have come to realize that there are many other different ways of accomplishing this by using android emulators but this depends on the computer that one has and how powerful it is. If you have one of the very old computers, then the method that I will discuss here will not be of great help to you.

What is An Android Emulator?

An Android emulator is a virtual device program which you install on the computer. It emulates the environment from the phone or tablet. You can use an Android emulator as a platform to run and test your Android applications.

How does this work with Arlo Camera?

You can install an android emulator like Bluestacks App Player, or NOX easily. When you have installed them, it will have you log in to your Google account and access it. This will allow you to run and access your Google play store so that you can install the Arlo app to view the cameras.

If you have many different Arlo cameras for monitoring several different locations, then you do not need to login to different accounts at the same time. The NOX player can suit all your needs even better. When you install NOX on your computer, it will allow you to open six different instances of the software by logging into several accounts.

If your primary purpose is mainly on android application development, and your computer has a pretty decent configuration, say Core i5 @ 2.80 GHz with a system memory of 8 or even higher.

Then I would recommend that you use android studio emulators which will allow you to use even the latest 7.1.1 Nought version or the newest Android O Developer Preview.

I have personally been using emulators for the past four years and have not found others like Bluestacks and Nox. And they have some issues that regard their performance in the optimal environment.

Here, I will go over some installation instructions for both NOX and Bluestacks briefly.

What to keep in mind when choosing the best android emulator

Price

You do not need to pay for any best android emulator when there are so many decent free options that are out there for one to choose from. Though there are so many compromises out there, so you should ensure that these are also acceptable.

Ease of setup

Although the process of installing android emulators is simple enough, in theory, most of the android emulators we have tried up to now have some delay at some point when they download many files. You may not be able to run the app instantly also.

Features

The main feature that you should look out for is the ability to emulate touchscreen gestures. For example, Nox allows you to bind swipes and tilts of the virtual device to keyboard shortcuts.

Mac compatibility

This may be sounding as obvious, but not all emulators run on Mac OS.

Conclusion

I am assured that Arlo is working on most of this aspect of their system so that they can develop a product that is better for their users. It only took a few research to compile this answers.
